about

Topeka, Kansas, punk band S.I.K was formed in 1988 among five high school friends - Eric, Jason, Jeff, Pat, and Troy.
S.I.Kʼs songs ranged in sentiment from chaos - inciting fun to dark introspection. During their five years together, the band played underground venues, local bars, and house parties in Topeka and neighboring college town Lawrence including the infamous Outhouse, which was located in a rural cornfield. After Jason left for the military in 1991, the band continued with Eric as sole guitarist. On September 18th, 1992, they recorded eleven songs in a basement studio. Sadly, none of the music became available beyond a demo cassette sampling, and S.I.K
broke up the following year. In 1995 while traveling with friends, Jeff tragically passed away at age twenty four.

This release of S.I.Kʼs 1992 studio session honors Jeffʼs memory, and memorializes the bandʼs unique energy both
for new listeners, and for old friends who were there during those days - Long gone, but not forgotten. - LHF
